  • Outdoors alocasias can tolerate some direct sun; typically, in the mornings.
  • Alocasias leaves will burn if exposed to too much direct sun.
  • Soil does have to be well draining but also must retain some moisture. Any tropical potting mix will do well.
  • Alocasias do like regular fertilizing during growing season; about once a month
  • Old Leaves will droop and yellow as they age, and new ones come in. This is normal! Simply cut off near the base with clean shears
  • Cannot be propagated by cuttings. They can be propagated by division or by using corms found in the root system inside the soil!
  • One of the first signs of being too dry are dramatically drooping leaves
  • These plants react to overwatering the same way. Most plants do start with yellowing, then drooping leaves
